This short story is so relevant to life today. The author describes a situation we can all relate to and yet it parallels with so many other difficulties that we face. It is not about religion. It's all about the Relationship! As Christians we need to proclaim this message as we journey through this life. Not just through our words, but with our actions. This story is a powerful reminder.
Forgiveness is needed so much today. We are all quick to blame and hold bitterness towards those that hurt us not realizing what bondage we are putting ourselves in. Forgiveness gives us freedom to share God's love with those who need it. I enjoyed reading this short story. It reminders us to forgive others no matter what they have done to us because God forgives us even though we don't deserve it. Because of His forgiveness we can and must forgive others. This also showed what anger and rage can do to ourselves and how it can effect others around us. I liked the example of the angry man taking responsibility for his actions. This is also a reminder to us to take responsibility for our own actions. Great story filled with life's lessons based on Biblical truths.
In a world filled with far too much 'life' to live, we get busy and don't spend much time reflecting on how we should live that life. This inspiring short story reminds us that life is about relationships. It reminds us that we choose how we respond to people who hurt us. It gives a message of hope through forgiveness. The story is fast paced, gripping and kept me intrigued throughout. Only one thing I would have liked was for the story to be longer so that more detail about the lives of the characters could be included. But that is just my opinion as I am a a detail person and it certainly does not affect the story or the read at all. The author keeps the plot moving right along making it easy and worthwhile to escape the busyness of life to read this story of true forgiveness stemming from a most difficult life circumstance.
It is rare to come across such a short story packed with so much insight and emotions, but this story has done just that. Dennis Snyder has come up with a tale of two families whose lives are intertwined in a moment of anger. The results change lives forever. I love the way he builds into the healing and forgiveness, and the way God is brought into it all. This story shows us how the love of Jesus Christ can cover over a multitude of sins. It also shows with God on your side, anything is possible. Great job! I look forward to many more stories by this new writer. He certainly has my attention!
